Hi from Joe, WB6TFD

I operate from Newark California. I am a lifelong California resident. I am a member of SBARA, The South Bay Amateur Radio Association and I am a member of the ARRL.

I was first licensed as KG6YZG, a no-code Techician on May 6, 2005. On September 5, 2006, I passed my element 3, but did not pass my element 1. On February 26, 2007, I attended a paperwork-only VE session and upgraded to General class - all made possible as the FCC eliminated the element 1 requirement for Generals.

I work in the Touch Screen Technology field here in the Silicon Valley. And have worked for the same company for 38 years.

I am very active with sideband mode on 17, 20, 40 and 80-meters. I really enjoy chasing DX and also like to just ragchew.

My station consists of an Icom 756 PROII, and the mic is stock. My secondary rig is a Icom 756 PRO and my amp is a 1KW, HL-1.5 K fx from Tokyo Hy-Power. My main antenna is a Hy-Gain DX-77 10-40 meter vertical. For 80 meters I use an Alpha Delta Model DX-OCF-HP off-center-fed 7-band antenna.

I also operate a Yasue FT 897D on 2-meters simplex, where I enjoy making contacts on 146.520 FM and on 144.230 USB.

I use my Icom 756 PRO for DX-ing on 6-meters, making contacts on 50.125 MHz, USB. In my spare time I enjoy working on and driving my 1976 M151A2 military Jeep and my 1951 M-38 military Jeep. I have 6-meter military radios on board just for fun.

My hobbies are ham radio, military radio collecting, and military vehicle and equipment collecting.

I look forward to working you and exchanging QSL cards.
