Our goal for this project is to be able to unite the past, present and future students of John F. Kennedy High School by creating a beautiful amphitheatre that everyone can be proud of.
This project will provide our fellow students a place where they can congregate during lunch, class breaks and school activities. This facility will also be used for performing arts events year-round, with it's natural ability to seat more students than any other common area in the school site.
The present amphitheatre area contains seating for approximately 30 persons, seated on three benches. The remainder of the area is graded for seating that can accomodate an additional 150 people seated on the ground. This area is virtually unusable when the ground is muddy.
With improved grading and 5-levels of tiered concrete benches, this same area will accomodate over 200 students, and the issue of whether the ground is muddy or dry becomes unimportant.
This goal can only be achieved if we can raise $17,000 in monetary donations. |
